The International Rescue Committee (IRC) in Silver Spring creates opportunities for refugees, asylees, victims of human trafficking, survivors of torture and other immigrants to integrate and thrive in suburban Washington and around Maryland. A committed staff of professionals, volunteers, and refugees themselves work together to assist families in reuniting and rebuilding their lives in and around suburban Washington.
The IRC in Silver Spring offers a broad range of programs that include resettlement and social services, adult education classes, employment assistance and career development, health and wellness programs, and immigration services, all of which ensured over 500 clients were welcomed to the suburban Washington area in 2018.
